Greybeard and Magoo captured in Art by Krazedone. Thank you Krazedone for coming into our lives and doing this for US!
My pride and my joy are my children. Sean and Ryan still live in Canada. I love them dearly, and miss them every day.
My Sister Brenda, isn't she cute!
Feeling stresed,
There are some awesom bubbles that just sorta relax you. It's cool!
you are paleturquoise #AFEEEE
Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.
Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.
Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.
Ok, so like Monday is almost over with, and I still have not figured out what happened to my weekend. I mean we all have different "dasy off", but for me my two days happen to be Sat. n Sun. How come we work hard all week, look forward to our days off, and POOF :!: they are gone before we can figure out what it IS we actually want to do. I figure ok, one night I will really hit the sack early, and one night I can stay up late watching a movie. I can even indulge in a drink or three on Friday night! Plans...just my mind misleading itself once again. Dosen't help when I have to work on part of my first day off either. But thats ok, I will take the time this week, at some point. My hubby and I have not been able to enjoy time off together in a great long while, but now for the next coupld of months we share the weekend off. I am so looking forward to it. There will be festivals that we both enjoy walking through, not to mention the good ole flea markets. Ahhhhhhhhhhh summer!!! Aint it grand....to be alive, and enjoy all the things the different seasons hold. Summer, base ball games (not that I see many here in Florida, but in Canada I sure did) picnics, sunset walks, camping...hahahahahah....in our 30 ft. travel trailer with slide out...now thats camping! BBQ's, oh I could go on, but won't bore you. We have started to enjoy this new game, Bocci Ball...we have to get us a set of balls, but now every one in the family plays it. Our Canadian family had been playing it for a while before us, and the kids are pretty good at it. We enjoyed horse shoes when they were here...and I used to play horse shoes in a club when I lived in Canada. I was made fun of for the way I through my shoe, but ya know what...I got B champion head scorer..so ppppppfffffffttttttttt I say :!:  Ok, hockey night in the Rathbun house is about to start.....Calgary is up 2 games to Tampa's 1. This should be a good game no matter what team wins. I don't care for either team, however because Calgary beat my Detroit team, and because they are Canadian, I have to cheer for them. So, have a great night doing what ever it is you do...and in case I don't see you....happy tomorrow.
Today was the first day Mark and I have had off together in a great long while. We slept in as we both needed the extra rest. I had a craving for pancakes with whipped cream and a fruit, I was wanting strawberries. We planned on going into Foley, to the outlet Mall, so we ventured up the Beach road and into Alabama. Mark drove into the Crackerbarrel restraunt across from the mall. Well needless to say there was a wait because of the great numbers of tourists here this weekend. He put our name in, and so I walked around the shop looking and oooooing and ahhhhing every now and then. Well I fell upon this hat that you see there. I look like a DORK in a hat, but for what ever reason, I fell in love with this hat. Now RED as always been a favourite color of mine anyway. I walked around with this hat on, and before I knew it, dork or not I did what Wilma would have done....hahahahahahah...charge it!!! I took it out of the bag and promplty placed it upon my head where it stayed for the duration of our day. I love my hat. This the the maker of my hat, imagine my surprise when I found out that this is the "official" makers of the Red Hat Society hat! I am tickeled pink with my hat. Now I have purchased hats in the past, and never really wore them, as I said I look like a dork. Grey will argue this fact. When I was in my early teens, I can remember for Easter purchasing with my hard earned baby sitting money a navy blue suit, and it had what they called a "jocky" hat, and this adorable ruffled white blouse and red pump shoes with hand bag! I think somewhere in my mothers pictures there just could be a picture of me in this suit along with Blou and our brothers on the font lawn of 1807 Whitehall Dr. London Ontario :!:  Sadly, I am old enough to be a part of any Red Hat group around here, I just need to find one I fancy and join. After eating we went to the Coleman store (big Tim the tool man Taylor grunt here fellas) and there I purchased a pair of binioculars on sale no less. I have wanted a pair for my Buddy...(thats my car) and for work. Not to mention when we go to the car races it would be neat to see what the heck is going on waaaaay over  there :!: Then we went to the Mall, walking around and dreaming. Of course we stopped into the Bose Store and sat through yet another demo of their surround sound, Home Theatre system. One day, but not THIS day. We ventured through a few other stores, but I wanted to head home, which we did. Phew...now it is time for bed...how time flies when having fun. So good night all, and in case I don't see you....Happy Monday!
Why is there a flying pink elephant here, hell I have no idea...it just said it wanted to be there...so poof its there! or is that here?! I am thinking, or shall I say toying with the idea of changing my header...however I really like this one, and Cece did a great job for me, and she didn't even KNOW me and she did this for me. I am pretty happy with myself right now, in all apsects of my life. I am more then comfy, I am happy and content. Right now, I am tired...my glass of wine nearly gone, I am still pondering what changes I shall or should continue to do on my blog. Hugs to all, tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day... GreyGoat and I will be together! hahahahahaha
Well here I sit and greatly ponder all the things of which I am fonder....hahahahahahha As you see I've changed my blog, I sat here for a couple of hours moving things around, only to cut n paste them all back to where they were. I am liking what I have so why change it all. I do like the new back ground ...tell me what you think....I might have to do something with font colors yet...still pondering that area. Mark is home, I can't believe it is after 8 all ready!!! This is short for this evening. We are off tomorrow together...so we WON"T be around here. Have a great weekend, fab evening...and in case I don't see you....enjoy tomorrow!
Thats where we were this evening. Pensacola's little "hooters series" race track. It is fun, and sometimes there is a more promenint name that comes to join in the fun. The humidity is high here this evening, the bugs are thick, and the wind was hefty for most of the race. The humidity play on my fibramyalgia issues, but I managed to stay until after the main race.....which took for freaking ever cause they kept wanting to crash and go in circles, and toss parts all over the race track, not to mention the 'oil' and 'water' combination that took a great deal of time to clean up and pour kitty litter over. Now home, I am ever so pleased to see that the "hot blogs" is back up and running. Rocky, for the Tblog group I thank you for your hard work in getting things done in what I consider to be a timely manner after the giant move. Mark started to tear wall paper off the kitchen wall....in areas that Schatze is too short to get at. We will have to make a choice of either putting up wall paper, or fixing the walls to handle paint, as the walls were not treated properly in the first place. I am freezing, wonder if my blood is low again.....seems to be that I got this way last time my blood was low. Geesh, or maybe my good Canadian blood has thinned out! :!: :?:  Ok, all, now I lay me down to sleep....good night, and in case I don't see you......I wish you a great tomorrow.
Have you ever had that feeling? I had a very busy morning at work, and while I thought things were slowing down, all of a sudden it was after 2 and I had not had my breakfast!!! I did my usual routine, standing out and watching the surf. The sky was starting to get pretty black, and you could see the dark pots of water along the cost line, however NO rain. We desperatly need rain here, I fear that much longer in this dry spell and we will be fighting fires in the forested areas around us. The wind started picking up, and that is not a good thing with a holiday upon us and all the crazy people that will be in trouble if the flags go to red, they just dont play safe around here. The dolphins were haveing a grand time basking in the sun today. They were putting on quite a show for me. ( like I was the only one watchng them, sometimes they too get taken for granted, sad eh) It was a great kite flying day, and a few good ones were up in the air. Mark installed our new dishwasher yesterday....yippie...have been with out one since before Christmas...how did I survive you ask.....I am not sure I did...hahahahahahah....Have I mentioned that I hate coming home to dirty dishes in the sink?! Life is good....all new appliances now in our house! These should be the last ones we have to buy for the rest of our duration on "mother" earth. Who wants what...come on tell me so I can put your name on it now. ahahahha I got two rattan chairs for the front porch today...FREE....however in transport a cushion blew away....so now I have to either purchase a cushion, which I might as well purchase 3 so all chairs have the same, or just buy the foam and make 3 covers. What a decision :!: :?:  Ok, now I am just babbling, so I will say good night, and in case I don't see you.....Happy tomorrow.
Thought for the day.....
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." - Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
It completely boggles my mind that there are Pensacolians that never GO to the beach, there are some natives that have never seen the beach....I am not kidding. How can one live in such a beautiful place and not enjoy it, not take full advantage of ones surroundings? I just can't wrap my head around that concept. We are getting ready for a very busy weekend at the beach, the Condo is 100% full. Today was sort of a weird day, ending with a longer meeting then I had planned on, but it was a good meeting. I went out to the beach, and stood on the board walk looking at the waves, and the beauty in front of me. While my family is some 1300 miles away, this place brings inner peace to me in so many different ways. Are you familiar with the show The Golden Girls ? Well, I used to say that one day I was going to be living on the beach with a white shag carpet and basking in the beauty of the Ocean. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would ever happen. It was a dream, a fantasy, a non reality. Here I am, and funny as it may be, the carpet in this house is not shat (thank god) but it is off white! My girl friend Marilyn gave me a great deal of support during my last few years in Canada and through out my divorce, she saved me in truth. Funny, we went to this Fortune Teller, and one of the things he told me was....I was going to be moving, I would be surrounded by a great body of water, and....hahahahah a lot of "Gays". We laughed it off. However, here I am in Pensacola Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico, 5 minutes from the beach, and working ON the most beautiful beach around. I am only 45 minutes to yet another barrier Island, Pensacola Beach , which actually is host to the Gay Pride Gathering this Memorial Weekend. I have not been to a Fortune Teller since, hahahah...not sure why either. At any rate, my point is, people just don't take the time to :smell the roses :watch the sun rise or set :view the beauty of the moon on a still black night :watch for that falling star :lsten to the frogs make their music :the birds sing and talk to one another or simply embrace their surroundings in all their glory. We only give thanks for being alive and as well as we are when someone (be that a friend or a family member) passes. Ok, I am getting pretty deep, and what I am saying is, while my family is far away, (and I love them all dearly and they know this as I tell them every chance I get) I am happy. I enjoy my life, I enjoy my job (at which I am damn good at) I love my hubby with all my heart, I am not just comfortable (as I was that in my previous marriage) I am satisfied this is where I want to be. Take the time do do these things people. Breath deep every now and then. Stop and BE happy. To my family, to my friends, thank you for being in my life and putting up with ME, and understanding me. I am a happy lucky woman. Time to go eat now after all this and it is only 7:30 p.m. phew!!!!! Good nite, and in case I do not see you, happy tomorrow.
Finally I get to do my blog for the day. I had my MRI yesterday, what an experience that was. :? I did not really pay attention to the long tube I was going to be shoved into via convayer belt, I kept my eyes tightly closed during the entire process. The noise the machine made was too much for words. I can't belive that in this day and age one has to endure that awful sound to get pictures of ones brain. When the noise started, I have to say I jumped. Starteld the crap out of me almost every time. Then, the Teck pulled me out and gave me a needle, a dye shot to enhance my brain for more pic's. I can't say that I was scared, I never opened my eyes, did not even peek...I was too afraid I would freak out so I kept my peepers closed tight until the words..."ok, you are done now and I will be taking you out". When I say the light I opened one eye at a time slowly to make sure I was indeed OUT :!: The headache started almost as soon as I sat upright, and my tummy felt more and more uneasy as I got closer to work. I did not stay at work long, only long enough to put out a few 'fires' and then homeward bound I was. I laid down, and tried to relax enough to rid my self of the ache in my head and tummy. I will give the Dr's 3 days to call me, then I will start pestering them  Today was a fairly good day, tomorrow will be interesting. Staff dinner this evening, and I just got home to watch the last period of the Calgary/Tampa game.....4-1 in ...do you have to asks favour!!! Calgary I talked with my Sister, Blou for a long while. It makes my day when we get to chat on the puter. I miss her a lot. We talked of my boys visit with her, they had a great time, lots of laughs, and that is what being with family is all about.....enjoyment! Now it is like midnight, and I have to work in the morning, not to mention I have a staff meeting to prepare for. Ok, I am ready for the meeting, have been for 3 days....thats just me. I can't stand waiting for the last minute to prepair for anything. Except for dinner!!! hahahahahaha...... Please pay a visit to my Hubbys blog.....Greybeard , he is entered in Featured Blogs, a vote for him, is a vote for an up and coming writer! Good nite, and in case I don't see you, have a haapy tomorrow, or is that today all ready.....Good day!
Aint that a mouth full!!!! hahahahaha My hubby Greybeard is looking for VOTES in "Featured Blogs". Please go visit his site, then go and vote for him. He spends many hours writing his transcripts for his daily entries, well ok, not many hours, but a very long thought process goes into every days post. He is very deep into thought and some ok, most of his posts will get you thinking....and is that not a good thing. He truely has one of the better informative blogs, and heck, I will go as far to say that he is better then any Editoral writer I have read!!! Good luck my Greybeard!
My two sons, Sean and Ryan, live in Kitchener/Waterloo/ Ontario Canada. They went 3 hours to the North to spend some quality "Family" time with their Aunt (my sister Blou) and family, and their Grandpa (my and Blou's Dad). Ryan had to work Friday till 7 p.m. so they took off straight from his departing work. Last time Sean did this he didn't have a bag packed, yep he came with me up North for my Mom's funeral with NO CLOTHS! And yes, he is the one that just turned 25!! hahahahah His mind was in the right place, he just wanted to be with me and family. I diegress.... My sister had baked a cake and wrapped some special little goodies all in celabration of Seans special day. The boys arrived around 10:30 or so Friday night. Let the party begin! and so it did. I will let my sister tell you of the laughter that ensued when Sean blew out his candles!! Saturday Mark gave my sister a call after the hockey game. This Stanley Cup series will be a fun one for our family, as will be playing for the Sir Stanley Cup against the first game will be May 25th at 8 p.m. Any fun bets out there!!!!! Ok, so when Mark called of course there had been some pretty good comsumption of beer through out the afternoon. Our Dad was cut off his beers as he was driving, and the boys were told they could not drive anyplace either, so after dinner Blou took the boys to Kelseys to watch the hockey game, and drink beers! I got a phone call from them at 11:30 their time, needless to say "happy" would be putting their mood in light terms. hahahahaha :!: I believe that today, they are going to venture out to the Grandpa's and spend the night there, and ventrue back to the land of WORK sometime Monday afternoon. This is the Canadian Holiday. Ok, I now need to go and figure out what it is I am going to do today. Go to the beach, where it is very crowded, or stay here and read my book, or go shopping....hummmmmmmmm which shall it be! So, have a good day, a wonderful evening, and in case I don't see you ....Good Morrow!
They arrived today, my washer/dryer. One on top of the other, Kenmore Elite :!: They are soooo quiet, we can actualy hear oursleves talk, and my cloths come out WRINKLE free :!: :o what a thrill.....it is a sad thing when you reach the point that a new washer/dryer can excite you, what can I say. Now on Monday, the new dishwasher gets picked up! THAT will be even a greater thrill as I can't stand dirty dishes in my sink...drives me over the edge, that is the one thing that sets me off after a hard work day, seeing dirty dishes IN the sink waiting to be cleaned...ask my kids...they know how unglued Mommy would get  So, we now have ALL NEW appliances in the kitchen. Next step...get a Lowes rep to come and do his measurement and order cabinets! Hubby and I are going to tear down the kithcen and install the cabinets our selves. Have you seen the show 'weekend warriers'? hahahaha....I need good ear plugs tho, hubby tends to turn the air blue quiet often during 'home' projects! It's just his way....glad I had to go back to work when he went under the house to install the dryer vent. I came home and it was all vented OUTDOORS and the air had returned to it's natural state...phew! till next project...My laundery room looks so great, fresh paint, new shelves...new appliances....don't look at the florr quiet yet...that will be the last thing we do in here. Ok, have a great and wonderful evening, and in case I don't see you, good morning!
Born May 21, 1979 weighing 7 lbs 14oz. a cute bundle of joy to me, my first born and a boy!!! This is not just his special day, but it is also mine. I believe that mothers should also rejoice and share their childrens birthdays. What a special occasion tomorrow is, for it is Sean Doyle's 25th Birthday :!: :!: 52 hours of labour only to end up with a "C" section, and then I stopped breathing...(I saw the light and know I am going to be getting my wings  My two boys are my pride and joy, the two greatest accomplishments of my life. I am so lucky and SO Proud. I love you Sean, Happy Birthday my Son.
Here a patch there a patch, poor tBlog is having great difficulty. :( I searched a couple of sites for a blog home before I signed up on tBlog, which I am sure most of you did as well. I sat here the night before last and did nothing but search blog sites again. I have to tell you, I kept falling back to tblog :? Nothing out there (that I have found yet) compares with what tBlog offers you. MORAL of this post.....be patient fellow tbloggers, a few days ago we got a message that Rocky and his gang were moving to what I assume is another server to better accomadate the HUGH traffic flow they now have. They asked for time to pack and unpack. I suspect that it was NOT as easy a move as they had anticipated...for that I am sorry, however I give them credit for keeping this site available while they try and work out the cob webs. Nothing worth waiting for comes easy, and this site is worth waiting for. Thank you to Rocky and his gang for doing what they do.....which by the way....just what is it any way........LOL..I am kidding.
When I was younger and we were waiting on a delivery, and it was late, and then a day late turned into a couple of days, my Dad had a saying...."It's on a slow boat from China". Made us laugh and forget about what we were waiting on. Later in my work experience I was able to fall back on Dad's saying again as the company I worked for had most of their clothing made in China...LOL...funny how what goes around comes around. I am remembering this because of the unability to get onto the Tblog server these past few days. I understand that things are changing, guess change is good, but not easy. I feel for the guys doing all the moving, seems their unpacking did not go as planned. What is that saying about the best laid plans blow up in your face! Been there done that as well. So, tonight we went shopping. No, not for kitchen cupboards, I just wanted to go into the Mall. We ended up in Sears, to look at dishwashers. Understand I have been with out a dishwasher since before Christmas!!! Oh yes, and one thing that drives me over the edge is a sink full of dirty dishes. Drives me completely nuts. My Sister told me that Markus (Greybeard to all of you) said that he would hide the dirty dishes IN the broken down dishwasher so I could not see them!!! He never did this, but it was funny when Blou told me this. Anyway, we got an extremely great deal on a dishwasher.....the lady dropped the price for us by $320 because the one we wanted we couldn't get until June, so the expensive model (which I loved but I knew Blou would freak if I spent $999 on a dishwasher) was available NOW...I bought it! Then over to the washer/dryers. The washer/dryer we have came with the house, and the house was built in '85! So we bought the Kenmore Elite stackable model. Same as the Whirlpool, but NO charge for the stackable unit thingie...I am thrilled....now maybe I won't pull cloths out and have them wrinkled! Oh yes, been dealing with that since for ever. Everything that came out of that dryer was wrinkled. We are going to be in such a mess here for a time. The laundry room needs to be takne apart for the new appliances, the shelves that is need to be taken down....where to put all the crap! that was on them....ARGH!!! How bout in the garbage! hahahahah... Ok, well I need to sign off of here now. I am so excited, I won't have to wash dishes anymore, and my ironing will be cut in half. I also saw a kitchen table that I just love. However I think Mark will make one for me. Good night, and in case I don't see you, Good Day!
Ok, like what is it with plain stupid people. I just have to bite my tongue, and try...ever so hard to NOT laugh and use the line I sooooo want to use...."heres your sign". I get a call from a guest who cancelled her reservation back the first of January and wants to know the status of her refund. I pull up her reservation information, verify her name, address, phone number and credit card info. Well here we go! The phone number belongs to her girlfriend who made the reservation. The credit card number is also her girlfriends. I explain that we issued the refund to the card we were given at time of reservation which is the card number I had just read to her. Oh, but I called in the cancellation. Yes, but the card I just read to you was the card which we charged the deposit to, so that is the card we put the refund on. Oh, so I don't get the money, she does...oh ......this is like where I want to hand her that sign!
We put a sign on the elevator, "out of order....maintenance work being done" a lady comes up to me and says...."your sign says out of order, but I need to tell you, the elevator is not working".....I bite my tongue...
For a Monday I guess what can I expect eh! hahahahah.....a good day all in all. The beach was so pretty today. Still very windy out there and humid, humid until about 3 p.m. then it started to get a bit cooler, well actually less humid. We need rain...who knows a rain dance! Not a hurricane dance, just a rain dance. Jenny came to visit me at work today, a very plesant surprise. She bought me lunch and we sat out by the pool and enjoyed it with Hoot laughing and taling to us from his stroller. What an adorable baby, Jenny is such a good Mommie.
Go visit that "heres your sign" site, turn up your volume and listen to the song, you will laugh!
Have a great evening, and in case I don't see you, have a great tomorrow. Thought for the day......."Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable." - Sydney J. Harris
Blou , my Sister, my only Sister, 7 years younger then I. The day Dad and Mom brought her home, I couldn't get home fast enough from school. Being November, we had of course snow on the ground. I can remember like it was yesterday, putting on my black rubber boots (yes rubber) in a hurry, got to get home before Dad comes with Mom. I did not shove my pants DOWN inside my boots, thus walking, running home they were getting wet and of course salt covered. I arrived at the drive way just as Dad pulled into the drive way with Mom and the new baby. What a thrill, what does my sister look like, how big is she, how is Mom.....Dad gets out of the car and promplty gives me ...a scolding for the condition of my pants. Oh I was not happy about this sister, already I am in trouble and she isn't even IN the house yet! hahahahahah Brenda and I grew closer as we grew older, I married and had my two boys. She promplty taught them how to blow raspberries with their mouths full of potatoes! Brenda married, and her house looked like that on the Better Homes n Garden magazine. Then she became pregnant with her first baby. We were told this child was going to come out diaper trained! hahahahahahah....Along comes baby #2, which we so enjoyed together, dressing him up, changing him, and dressing him in something else minutes later. Just like playing with a doll. We laughed while her hubby and mine thought we had lost our minds. We did not live in the same town, 3 hours apart. On one visit Mom and Dad were not home, they had gone away. Brenda and I went to check on the house and spend some quiet time with just the two of us. We raided Moms closet. Our Mother wore wigs, god how many did she have and in how many colors?!?! hahahahah I hear a "hey sis come to the stairs"...and there is Brenda with one of the wigs on, and I think she had on Mom's bra, which was like what Sis a 52DD cup!! hahahahah...well we laughed. I have to say we have had more laughter in our lives then crying. There just is NO words to say how much I love my Sister, Blouand I will never be able to show her how much her taking care of Mom really ment to ME. I can only say, and hope she can feel the love I have for her.
A good day, all be it one that contained NO house work for me. I did manage to get a few loads of wash done before I ventured into work. I do truely enjoy my job, not many can say that. I am lucky. Grey is off watching the Roy Jones fight, I just am not interested in boxing. I do not understand why one would wish to be pounded upon in such a manner. It was a very windy day out on the beach. When it is like this, the wind picks up the salt and deposits it all over. My car is in very bad shape, I will have to wash it tomorrow, shoulda done it today, but got too lazy. Could hardly see out the windows. Tomorrow I think I will play. I want to find a dishwasher. I wish I could get it, bring it home and install it before Mark got home, but that won't happen. I need to think of something I CAN get and see how long it takes him to find it.......hummmmmmm..... As pink elephants fly, I must sign off with a sigh, Time for bed grows neigh!
Thought to Ponder on this Saturday night "The greatest use of a life is to spend it on something that will outlast it." - William James What have you left? Tell me... What will outlast me....my children, Sean and Ryan, they are my proudest accomplishments, my greatest joy.
I have seen pictures of 'socks' and other such home/hand made projects around blogs this morning, so I figured what they hey! or actually "yarn" :) :!: This was the IN thing to do this past winter season here in Pensacola. Every Snowbird that could knit was at this evening craft while watching T.V. The stores could not keep up with the material used which is called "eyelash" yarn! And it ain't cheap either. I made a georgious one, in a shawl size for a very dear on line ICQ friend of mine in chenniel. I have to admit it turned out super :!: How much is this worth??? hahahahaha....It is fun, and it keeps my poor fingers working so the FMS won't stop the use of them. Thought for the morning while drinking your coffee.....
As long as war is regarded as wicked it will always have its fascinations. When it is looked upon as vulgar, it will cease to be popular. - Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900) - I thought this fitting a thought to ponder with all that is going on in our "world".
One Margarita, two margarita, three margarita .....floor!
Sorry for no post last night. We went to the Mexican place for dinner with a friend, had a margarita (or two) came home, fought with tblog for a while, couldn't get on so went to bed :!:  Boy was it windy at the beach today  Red flag waving in the air, and people IN the Ocean!!! silly silly people. Needless to say, stupid me, should have put a piece of cotton IN my ear, didn't and now it is bothering me worse then it did with out the wind. Not exactly great for the hair doooo either I might add. Schatze has been a pretty good doggie this week. The sand still comes in, but she has not tore up any more of the floor, or removed any more wall paper. She has not brought in any more rocks, pieces of brick, limbs off trees, roots or grass from the diggins of hers, or empty pots left from plantings :!: mmmm no half chewed up turtles or other animals either. Schatze has not done her "business" in the garage since before she was 'on the diaper' either. We could have made it over the 'bad puppy' stage, but we will not count our Schatzies before they hatch!!! hahahahahahah Mark is suffering again. His neck issues. I think he is going to need another fusion, actually we KNOW he is going to need it, just a matter of getting into the Dr. to setlle the debait.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY "Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died." - Erma Bombeck
Let me see there are things that you can only get in Canada which I have mailed to me here in Florida 1) Tetley Tea, orange peko, can't buy it here, can only get the stuff for Iced Tea...it's NOT the same...ask my Greybeard hubby! 2) Tim Horton's coffee...hahahahahahah....krispy cremes don't compare! 3) Snow...hahahahahahah..... 4) Zambonie Drivers are better in Canada... 5) Ice....they had to call the hockey game in Mississippi last month due to slushy ice...imagine..play offs and they have to call the game!! 6) Fruit Sugar....my Mom's recipe for short bread cookies calls for this, you can't get it here in Florida 7) Red Licorice....ask my step son Aaron 8) did I mention Snow! 9) better Beer!!! and the 10) a Loony, and a Toony coin!!! hahahahahahaha
What a perfect thing to come home to :!:  My boys sent me a beautiful "mom" ring. I am thrilled. A bit late, but hey....better late then never I always say. Now keep in mind my two boys are in Canada. There is not a moment goes by that I do not miss them. Sometimes it is more difficult then one could imagine, I get all chocked up and just can't talk about them cause I miss them so. Of course that goes for ALL my family. It was a great thing to find sitting on my front porch tonight. I can't pin point the reason, but I know my stress level is way high, and I know from past experience the feeling I have in my chest is anxiety pains. I don't know why. Well I can guess why, as I have stated I am bothered about this ear thing. When the teck said to me "you are calling for a brain scan" I think I stopped breathing. :? When I hit 45, my body started this "I need attention" kick. Yep, I had 4 major surgeries in ONE year :!:  Some day I might write about them...interesting. I have Fibramyalgia, and it too has been bad these past few days. I am not going to fall apart, I will not allow that. My white blood count was down to THREE once, the Dr. couldn't believe that I was talking, let alone walking around on my own, she said I should be like passed out, carried in on a streatcher, not joking and laughing standing here walking through the hospital on my own from one lab to another. hahahahaha..but that tends to be ME...in a nut shell...and I mean nut. There is nothing pretencsious (ok spelling pretty much sucks on this word) about me, I shoot from the hip, tell it like it is. If you don't like me....your loss not mine. But sometimes, espically the past 7 years, I don't like being the strong person that I have become known to be. Mark has allowed me to be ME in all my splendor. I do not have to pretend for him, I do not have to walk on glass for him, I do not have to be strong all the time either. He says to me "just for grins and giggles, can't you be just a little tiny bit afraid of me every once in a great while"...hahahahahahahahah how bout NO!!!!!!! Good day, good evening, and in case I don't see you, have a great and happy tomorrow!
The world is a funny place really. Things roll along peacefull like, and then bang, something happens that pulls the red carpet right out from under you, bursts your bubble, has you second guessing your self, insecurity sets in, anxiety fills your chest, and you can't eat, sleep or think straight. My Mom would say "shit happens", I miss my Mom. She had the neatest sayings for any situation. As old (I admit to this ONLY this once) as I am, I would still fall on Mom for advice, a recipe, a substatue ingredient, the meaning of a fork, knife, spoon left in the sink after doing dishes. I think maybe it is God's way of tapping us on the shoulder and reminding us to not get to comfy, to not get over confident, and to remember we can fall pretty hard and fast, and with out warning! I figured after having 4 surgeries in ONE year, my health issues would be all dealt with. Wrong!! This "ear" condition is bothering me, playing on my mind at the worst times possible. I am not dealing with day to day happenings very well, the daily small stresses at work bother me more then they should. Little things at home have made me more ....shall we just say "moody". ( Greybeard might have other verbs to describe me). Tomorrow is hump day.....thank goodness! My Detroit Red Wings failed me, better luck next year...IF there is a next year...talk of strike upsets me. I now go for Calgary, only because they beat my Detroit team. There is always baseball.....Go Tigers!!! In every cloud, we are left to find the silver linning. I think we just might have to purchase that 'sports channel' for the summer. To all, have a good day, good night, and in case I don't see you....good morning too!!!!
Peaches is my Jenny (she allows me to call her that and NO one else), my daughter in law. Jenny has placed herself up for Featured Blog. She has worked hard, is learning fast, and her blog really is quite beautiful! A chip off the old block..hahahaha A link to her site is down there on the right, yes thats it..the Peach!! Please find her in the Featured Blog voting area, and give her you thumbs up!
What a good Monday this was. All thought today I have this 'anxious' feeling, and I don't know why. I get like this every so often. Hormones I guess. I just feel like my heart and tummy could jump out in front of me...wouldn't that be a sight! The wind was ripping at work today, the surf was hugh!! Red flag, but there were people in the water any ways. They don't listen. I am getting ready for a Board meeting this weekend. I have a presentation to do, and it is all done!! What a student I was...hahahahahah I don't like thise meetings, and I don't go to them as a rule, only when I really really have to. Too much politics for my liking. The dogs were good today, Schatze is out of the diaper, and we are biding our time until we can get her fixed.....I don't want to go throught this again :!:  The kitchen was covered with sand etc, but she did not tear up any more flooring. She did get at some area on the wall and tore off some wall paper however. I did not see that until a bit ago. Wonder if I could put her up on the table and let her have a go at the higher spots to help in the removal of the rest of the paper. Just a thought, I am kidding.... We are going to get some BIG storm. The sky is starting to change. The blue is so pretty. I love watching the ocean and the sky change when a storm is coming in. The clouds here are so close to the ground, almost like you could reach up and grab them. My computer keeps shutting down for no reason, well no reason I know of. I was entering something on blog and "poof" my screen went black. Guess I better take Louise into the shop and have the Techies look at her, hope I don't have a virus! I need to get a hair cut, just out of the blue, yep I need this mop reduced a bit. I think I will plug in my hot wax for my feet tomorrow too. Boy that feels great....and get Greybeard to do a pedicure for me. He does my toes all the time, and he does a smashing job of it too. Ok, time for strawberry shortcake!! Good night all, happy evening, and in case I don't see you....good morning too.
I just can't believe the weekend is gone all ready. My father used to say to me, "when you're young, things don't happen fast enough, when you get older things won't slow down", my father was right. As usual. Never put off till tomorrow, what you can do today. I can only imagine there is a million (well OK, at least a LOT) of these type of sayings all boiling down to the same meaning, issue, or fact. Time flies when you are having fun would not necessarily be the one I would use for this weekend, but it fits in a pinch I suppose. My morning started off rather unsatisfactorly (is that correct) Mark went off to work, (no coffe brought to me either I might add) Aaron and Jenny called, next came Diane, then Ryan. I went out for a bit and when I returned a message from Sean. I did speak with Sean on Saturday evening and told him not to bother calling me, but he did any ways. I am blessed, as I will say again, my two greatest accomplishments are my two sons, Sean and Ryan. I am so very proud they are mine. Then I come into Marks life and am blessed with two more sons, who have allowed me to take part in their lives like I am their mother. I spent some time out at my 'safe' spot, the beach. As my ear started bothering me, I came home and mada a good dinner for Mark and I. Not to mention strawberry short cake done the way Mark loves it. I opened up the doggie door this afternoon, Schatze and Snuggles were going In and OUT and IN and OUT enjoying their freedom once more. Smiles were on both their faces..so cute. Don't let cute fool you Margo...there is a devil in side that Schatze just waiting to be left in your kitchen again!!! hahahahahah Ok, tea is waiting on me to serve, so I must say good night. Have a great evening, a wonderful and safe Monday to you all. Good night, and in case I don't see you...good day and good morning.
Happy Mothers Day to all the "Moms" that visit here today. LET ME SEE.... hahaha my day started at 3 a.m. with a toilette puking all over the floor! Ya, I had to get up after Schatze cold nosed me, and when I flushed everything was fine, till I heard a funny noise, then water hitting the floor. The ball in the tank had broken off its' arm, thus the water would not shut off. HEY..I had the grey cells working (don't confuse this grey cell matter with my hubby Grey!) and turned off the water supply. PHEW! Happy Mothers Margo!!!! My boys are in Canada, so I am just having a normal day today. As I am off today, I will take my cute little camper rocking chair to the beach and read my Harry Potter book while enjoying the waves, and with any luck the dolphins. I plan on making veal rost with potatoes and some veggie not yet picked for dinner this evening. Last night we had pizza as our son Aaron and Jenny ( with grandbaby Hoot) came over, I was unaware of this plan, and Aaron installed the new ceiling fan here in my computer hall room. Phew, now it keeps the air moving and it allows the A/C do work much eaiser. Well I must be off to ready myself for my days events. Have a wonderful day Moms, and a peaceful evening.
Walk along the shore line of Perdido Key on the Gulf of Mexico. One of the barrier Islands to Pensacola Florida. My hubbies favourite saying is "Pensacola Florida, home of surf, sand and fun in the sun". The Emeral Coast, The Lost Key, these are a few of the popular names of Perdido Key. As the sun sets, the sky becomes an awesome picture. Would you believe there are people living HERE, that have never spent time on the beach I am lucky enough to work ON Perdido Key, the Island. Pensacola Beach is the other Barrier Island, which I had the good fortune of working on as well. My hubby, Greybeard is a Park Ranger at Gulf Islands National Seashore, Perdido Key. I am Rental Director at one of the Condos on Perdido Key. We are also lucky enough to live 5 minutes away from work, and with in walking distance to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Here is where I love to sit and ponder life. I may read a book, or get lost in watching dolphins play. No matter what the weather, the Gulf of Mexico is breath taking always.
This is MYBoston Terrier, Snuggles. She will be 5 years old in September. Mark gave her to me for my birthday 5 years ago. Snuggles is the best dog anyone could ever wish for. She is smart and her aim in life is to please her people. Snuggles knows her left from her right (although there are times when she loves to ...shall I say piss Mark off and play stupid) Snuggles doesn't like it when we give Schatze heck, Snuggles trembles all over, and will be hiding in her doggie cage (which turns out to be her escape from Schatze, her 'safe' place) when we get home cause she KNOWS someone is in for a spanking :!: Snuggles got bitten by a snake a year ago. It was just after me coming home from my Moms funeral. Poor little thing, her face swelled up so much in such a short time. I of course cried all the way to the emergency Vet. I just can't loose my puppy. Snuggles is my first dog, and by the looks of things (talking about Schatze) my last dog. hahahahahahahah...She is so sweet, never barks (Schatze never shuts up) and Snuggles is a lady. She prefers to sit on a blanket out doors, doesn't like to sit on pavement. However she sure can make the sand fly when at the beach IF she is in a playfull mood. I love my Snuggles.
Well, now I can go to bed in peace. My position has been re-instated, "Thank you Rocky". I have to say this, Rocky is a fair guy. I am so glad that I choose Tblog for my fun. You have NO idea how much I enjoy this. I have my entire family (the ones that have computers) on here now. Rocky, I could hug you!!! Ok, now for my day.....An owners child pulled the fire alarm this morning. Only ONE guest came clammering down the stairs to vacate the Condo. I told them to go back to enjoying their swim, and they were like "are you sure"....hahaha...yes I am sure. It will cost this owner about $200 for the replacement of the Fire Alarm switch. It can't be fixed after the little glass tube is busted. At least not this kind. Then we had to have the box reprogramed. At least the owner fessed up as soon as the "wooooop....wooooop" started. Boy, that is obnoxious (ok I spelled it wrong). I left work early so I could be with Hubby ...Greybeard. We went in search of cabinets, we are going to re do our kitchen totally. 8) Ok, now it is time for me to do as my little eley is doing... relax, sleep, and regain energy for tomorrow I go to the beach and take pics for emaze! as promised!! So, good night, and in case I don't see you.....good morning and good day.
I do believe I know what caused me to be taken off the Hot Blog list. I was cutting and pasting new additions to my blog, and some how, in my rush, I cut and pasted a terrible book review. Yes, I can't belive I did it. I do not condone such books. For having offended you my visitors I am sorry. Rocky, I am sorry. Tblog was running slow, and I did not get a chance to check my postings. Not an excuse as one should be much more careful. Lesson here folks.......DO NOT cut and past when tired and rushed! I want back onto hotblogs in the worst way.
As the saying also goes, here today gone tomorrow. Yesterday I was #62 in hot blogs, and today I am not even on the chart. :!: I am so very carefull to only leave positive comments, I am so very carefull as to what I say on my blog. Something I said....like what :?: This is so very depressing to me. I see these blogs hit the higher numbers in hot blogs and the stuff they put on their blogs scares even ME :!: I am so upset that I can't even enter my days events, so good night and in case I don't see you, Good morrow.
After 10 years of the most popular TV comedy, which followed six New York coffee shop regulars as they moved from post-adolescence to something approaching adulthood, most of the Friends futures are pretty much set. It's also the end of an era for TV comedy. With "Frasier" finishing next week, HBO's "Sex and the City" gone and CBS' "Everybody Loves Raymond" expected to end next year, television is losing some of its best and most popular comedies with little to replace them. Have a moment of silence for the loss of a great, great comedy show, that gave so much to its' viewers. You know where I will be later this evening, with a box of tissue close at hand. "Friends", I will miss you dearly. So, good day, good night, and in case I don't see you, Have a great morning.
Not sure why, but a couple of times through out the day, I caught myself stepping back in time. Back to my younger years, back to high school, my first dance, my first date, the PROM!!!...ahhhh now I know why.....my two part time girls just had their Prom, and are getting ready for Graduation!!! The song simply everyone wanted played at Prom was, "Whiter sade of pale", it was THEslow dance song of all time :!: So, for all us "wiser, and mature" bloggers, enjoy this song, and let it take you back to your Prom night! Good day, good evening, and in case I don't see you, Good morning!
Today was a much better day, issues dealt with, and a great deal of stress relief! It was ALL the great vibes off my blog, I just know it was.
I love my job, I really do, but there has been times this past couple of days where I am wondering if I am where I want to be in the work place. I suppose we go through these thoughts from time to time. There is some stress right now at work, and when I left Canada I promised myself I would never get into a job again where the stress would eat me alive. Not that it has come to that where I am, at least not yet. Oh well, my Grand Mother...Memere would say "say la gare", and I know that's not spelled correctly. The A/C guys had to do some major repair work here today, seems the drain pipe was draining all over the bedroom floor. Not good for Florida! So they had to put in a new drain pipe, drilling a new hole in the floor, going under the house and out to the heat pump. Nothing is ever easy for us, nothing. I feel like I just got home from work, and it is time for bed all ready. Geesh! Dad, I'm enjoying another one of your bottles of wine...thank you. Can you bring me more when you come!!!! hahahahahah I am still in shock about being in the featured blogs. I am so thrilled, wish I could take a picture of that number by my name and frame it. hahahahahahahaha...kidding...well not really. Ok, Good day, Good night and in case I don't see you Good morning.
First of all thank you, thank you to every one that took time out of their busy lives to go and vote for Magoo Ville. For what ever reason, this has been one of my goals, and you all made it happen. Man, I just can't believe it. I am like sooooo thrilled  :D This is the high lite of my day, heck of my week, I will even go for MONTH :!: Thank you, wow, this is like so very kewl.
Thank you Jenny for getting me this banner! Yes, I love Elephants. I am a bit anal about it too, I will be the first to admit it. My hubby made this wonderful marble mail box, and he put one of my brass elephants on top. I must say it looks very kewl. No, I am NOT a Republican, I am Canadian! hahahahahah  8) I am thinking that I should start another blog just for Elephants, nothing but Elephants. What do you think, should I??? come on tell me ....
Today is Frenchie's birthday, (my Sisters hubby) so.........
Raise a glass Sing a cheer Peters birthday is finally here
Sing it loud Sing it clear Thank god it only Comes once a year!!!
Happy Birthday Peter We wish you well Happy Birthday Peter Hope youre doing swell!!!
Am I good or what! Ok, went to the Crawfish/Creole Fiesta, what a let down. As I don't eat those crawfish, there was NO crafters this year, but the music was good. We had a good time as I went with family, and that always is a good time. Thanks Jenny and Aaron for letting me tag along :P I had put the dogs outdoors when I went out so no mess to worry about. Schatze is almost finished with her new found wodog hood...hahahah...thank goodness. Now mark the date for 2 months and make that appointment so we don't have to go through this again. The storm last night was like LOUD! Lightening struck the sign at the entry to the Park where Mark works, blew it to pieces, and seems the lightening also took out most of the Parks electronics. What fun it is to live on the Gulf Coast, Lightening Capitol of the world, well if it's not, it is like up there close. The sky is dark again, so no telling what this evening will bring. I am tired, and feel like sleeping. Mark doesn't get off till 7 p.m. and he has requested fried pork chops, mashed taters, peas and milk gravy. It is too late for me to eat that sort of a dinner, but I will cook it for him, cause I love him. Ok, now it is time for me to get off here. Puppies are playing, and asking to go outdoors. Good day, good night, and in case I don't see you....good morning.
It was a humid/overcast day today. It started out with a heavy blanket of fog, that only increased in density the closer you got to the Key. By noon it had started to disipate on the shore here, but not as much on the Key itself. :? I spent the day cleaning, now with Marks efforts on the living room carpet the house looks clean. Ya, I even washed the kitchen floor whats left of it. hahahahah I need to iron yet. The Crawfish/Creole Fiesta is taking place this weekend. Maybe tomorrow I will venture down town to walk around the Arts n Crafters. I don't go for the food, as I am a bit unsure of eating at those 'kiosk' type places. Plus, I don't care for a lot of that sort of stuff, and I sure don't like those crawfish :!: yuck yuck yuck they even look disgusting, did I say yuck!? We are under a severe thunder storm watch until 10 p.m. While we need the rain, these severe storms can go away. I am enjoying a glass of my Dads wine, all the way from Canada via my hubby. Thanks Dad! Sis, tell Dad I am drinking his wine, that will make him smile. Mark has a head ache, could be this weather, but I think he better get into the Dr. again about his neck. I call the Navy Base on Monday to make my appointment for my MRI. I want chocolate now! I have started reading books on different types of cabinets, and different options. It is fun, and lots of ideas. I better sign of here now, not much happened today, Schatze has been good, although she has gotten bad at begging. Her diaper remains in good shape when left alone. So my friends, again I ask that you go and vote for me on Featured Blogs if you have not done so this week yet. Good day, good evening and in case I don't see you...Good morning.
Check out the new Baby Elephant born April 22, 2004
I love Elephants. My fasination with this animal has gained me some 500 plus collectables of many different kinds. I have glass, wood, porclin, silver, bronze, copper, jade, crystal, clay, stuffed elephants, not to mention my jewellery and dresses and oh yes purses.
