Easter Sunday
04.16.06 (2:52 pm)   [edit]
Not really any different for me compared to any other day actually. Is that not just sooo sad! Thing is, my family is all in Canada, and Marks boys, well they seem to be either into their "friends" or are busy with their own stuff. Here I sit, wishing I could be with my boys and my Sister. I have done laundry and some ironing. Thrilling Easter Sunday I know. Mark bathed the two dogs...Schatzy needs another hair cut, it doesn't take too long for her to get that "un kept" look working for her. Mark returns back to work for the Park Service Monday. That puts a smile on our face some what. Being out of work, and collecting the little bit of UI puts a large crimp in our style of living. Espically for me as I was going to look for other employment to rid my stress and anxiety, but it is what it is. Cross your fingers that he gets the VA job he put in for, then I can hand in my 'good bye, been nice knowing you' paper and go work a part time job where I leave work when I punch out. Ok, my dryer is calling my name. Remember, keep a penny in your pocket and a smile in your heart. Hi Mom, a little help in the lottery would be nice!

Suddenly quiet
03.26.06 (5:55 pm)   [edit]
My Sister left early this morning, headed back to her home in our Canada. I miss her all ready, and the house is way to quiet. I almost have forgotten what quiet was/is. Ususally I get right into house cleaning when she leaves to take my mind of being sad. However today I just wanted to get out of the house. Maybe I felt that would be like running from my feelings. At any rate, I did empty the dish washer (which seemed to run non stop for the past two weeks, but thats what they are for right!), had my shower and off Mark and I went. We took in the RV show here in town, visited with friends that have returned home from Hurricane relief work in Mississippi, had dinner and I am in my jammies waiting on ice cream...hehehehe with chocolate sauce. I had a wonderful time with my Sister, as I can only hope she enjoyed herself as well, and of course her hubby and little one Casey (13 yrs young). They stayed an extra day so that should tell me somethin eh, or was it for the sunshine....hahahaha....both I would say! I miss my family a great deal. This is a short entry as I am pooped in truth. A lot of stairs to climb when taking in an RV show, and a lot of late nights when on holiday as well...but boy I wouldn't change a thing we did, cept maybe kick the men out so we could have our little chat with our Mom. Keep your stick on the ice, a penny in your pocket and a smile in your heart.

I have been away from this venue since the hurricane of 2004. Every once in a blue moon I have stopped back in to view others work, and read a few good blogs, but have not taken the time to enter in my own blog thoughts. It has been a very long year for us here in Pensacola. While things have been cleaned up, there is still a lot of work to be done. Perdido Key still has the after hurricane look to it with a considerable amount of construction going on almost the full length of the Island. I can not possibly catch you up on my life since the hurricane, but I can tell you this....I will not stick around if we get hit by another one the size of Ivan. I could not go through all this again. It has been a learning experience for me as one of the Managers of a Condo on the Island, an experience I could have lived my entire life not knowing. At any rate, here we are. Winter is about over, and we find ourselves going over the hurricane preperation list yet once more. On the brighter side, I have had my Dad here with one of his sisters. Marks Mom was here, and I am now getting ready for my Sister to arrive. She leaves Canada tomorrow evening (unless they get hit with freezing rain) and should be here by Friday bedtime! yeah!!!! I start my holidays tomorrow for two weeks. I guess that means no bloging for me again eh. Thats ok, if I do continue with this, it looks like I have to learn all over again. Until next time: Me,my Dad, Aunt Dianna Jean

Back for the moment!
08.04.04 (7:46 pm)   [edit]

Well here I am.  My son has come and returned to his home land Canada.  The week went by so fast.  Time seems to be slipping by us these years.  My Father said to me once, "when one is young, a minutes seems to last for ever, now in our middle years, time slips past us so fast we barely get to savour the moments". This is so very ture.

Ryan left Canada on the Friday evening and was on my door step at noon on Saturday.  Holy Crap batman!!! Of course he and his friend took turns driving and did not stop to do anything but "P"...hahahahaha....they left here after dinner on Saturday evening and entered Canada on Sunday late morning.  Ahhhhh to be young and able to flirt with the wee morning hours!  ahhhhh to be young and able to stay up ALL night....hell to be young and able to stay up half the night! hahahahah

We are now into our kitchen renovation.  Mark and the boys tore down the existing cabinets, Mark had to tear/cut out the ugly pink tile backsplash as the tiles would not let loose of the dry wall.  The wall and the old pantry has been pulled down and Mark has moved the power for the dishwashers new home.  Mark is also now ready to put up the new dry wall.  ME, well I started taking off the wall paper, but holy crap....it don't want to let go of the wall either.  I bought the stuff to remove the paper, soaked the wall, scored it and soaked it...but the paper is putting up a great fight.  I think I am going to look into renting a steamer thing to see if that will make it easier.

We have till Wednesday and then the new cabinets will be installed.  Mark will be home to if nothing else keep the dogs out of harms way! hahaha and me...I will be at work going nuts and getting all worked up so see my new cabinets.  After the cabinets are installed we will put down a new floor, and then the granite counter top should be delivered.  Of course there is painting to be done, and part of the ceiling to fix from where the wall was torn off.  When it is done, I will post a picture of my kitchen that my dear Mother paid for out of the money left to me from her passing. Thank you Mom.

Now, it is time for me to hit the sack.  It has been a couple of days since I got any good sleep and with this dust in our home, the high humidity and my broken heart with my Son's departure, my Fibramyalgia has flared up big time. I am going to take Friday off to give my self a 3 day weekend to get that frigin paper off the kitchen walls, and maybe toss on a coat of paint.  Maybe!!

Stop by once in a great while, I enjoy the comments and the visits.

Be well, keep smilin, do something nice for a friend.

Kids are here!
07.24.04 (9:53 pm)   [edit]
Happy Saturday all be it late, I should be saying Happy Sunday! My son and his friend arrived here about noon....they were driving from Canada, but it seems like they flew! At any rate, I knew my Mom was with them and getting them here safely....long story about me and my pennies yet again! This evening as I was making the bed in the trailer for Ryan, there on the floor was a penny, 'heads' up staring at me. "thanks Mom" I said, she did her job and wanted me to not forget to put thanks where thanks was due. Now I know she is here with me for a time. Of course my son looked at me all 'weird' like, and I had to remind him of my penny story. He still thinks his Mommy is weird, but in a good way. Sunday we will go to the flea market, and then here we are having a family bbq. Mark is doing his smoked ribs again. I suspect he will be up at ODARK thirty getting them cooking. Now, one of my staff went to Atlanta too see Madonna in concert this evening. I get this phone call, and can hear this music...and then it hits me.....its Christine....she has called me from the concert.....she is holding her phone HIGH up in the air so I can hear Madonna sing....."respect yourslef".....so very very kewl! Thank you Christine....for sharing a bit of that with ME!!!!! time for bed now, tomorrow will be a long one. Thought for the day: "If a small thing has the power to make you angry, does that not indicate something about your size?" - Sydney J. Harris

My boy!
07.21.04 (8:44 pm)   [edit]
My youngest son leaves Canada on Friday evening for HERE!!! He will be with a friend, who has a car, and they are driving straight through. Expected to arrive here Saturday evening around dinner time, well that what HE says! We'll see. None the less, I will be here waiting on him. Won't sleep Friday night in anticipation, and will be looking out the window come Saturday late afternoon. Ryan doesn't have a cell phone, I hope Rob does...cause Mommy wants the number!
We have a few projects going on here. I think my Markus has ADD...hahahaha....starts one project, leaves it for a time, starts another one, hahahahah...sorry Markus...now the shed, it is looking real good. Marks fall has put him behind a bit, but his two son's did a great deal of work on Sunday! Thanks Boys!!!
Friday Bt is going to put the roofing on, and then it is the doors and the shelves need to go in so we can clean up the garage! Holy Crap Batman! you can't walk through the garage...what a mess....
Then we have the kitchen....I have emptyed out the one pantry and the shelves over the fridge. Mark has to tear down that area and the wall between the fridge and that pantry. I need to get boxes and paper to box up the pots n pans, and carefully store my dish ware, the OUT with the cabinets, and OUT with what is left of the floor thanks to Schatze. Now that we want her to tear up the rest of the floor...she won't! Go frigin figure eh!!!
As our trailer is fully stocked with dishes and kitchen stuff, the only thing I will bring out there is the spices...as the cooking will be done in there. Thank goodness.
Ok, like I said, I will try and pop in from time to time to say HI to my friends that have not forgotten me here. Be well all.

Juvenile killers
07.19.04 (4:28 pm)   [edit]
Is the execution of juvenile killers inhumane? I believe that if you have the ability to kill, and use that ability, no matter what your age, you should be treated and tried as a killer. Age has no boundries when it comes to killing another human, why then should it have boundries in dealing with such crimes in the courts. If the law is such it does not punish these young offenders justly, then what do we have to protect us and to hold firm that taking anothers life is against the law and subject to severe punishment.

Lottery bound...
07.17.04 (7:23 pm)   [edit]
I can't remember just how old I was, or the year, but I have an Aunt in Canada that won $1 million green ones. Understand that my family did not see a penny of this, nor did we really expect to. I can remember them stopping into London to visit me briefly, on one of their trips to Wallaceburg. I was Advertising Manager for Woolco Dept. Store at the time. They came in and went shopping, for what I can't remember, but I can remember them trying to be all "we won the lottry". It did not make them any happier, if anything it only added to their sorry lives. We were not close to this part of the family, and only saw them if they went to see Memere when we did. I can remember they first lived in a very ugly orange house! hahaha
Why do I go back to this time you ask???? This year I will be 52 years old, I was born in 1952, and this past week had my Mom and Dad not parted the year of their 40th anniversary, they would have been married 53 yrs. I was told this is supposed to be lucky. Maybe now that I have written about it I have squelched my luck factor. I also was told to write down the first numbers that come into my head, which we did right then and there.
I just came back from buying a ticket for the drawing this evening for the Florida Lottery. Wish me luck.

Time!
07.15.04 (9:21 pm)   [edit]
If I could put time in a bottle, I'd save it and give some to you......
This song brings me back to a very dear friend of mine that passed away due to cancer of the brain. He was probably the closest friend I have ever had so far in my life.
He thrived on teasing and pestering the crap out of me, as I did him. In years he could have been my father, but in his heart he was caught in his childhood.
He was the center to which a small gourp gathered round, and some how my children and I were allowed to enter that circle. It is a time my oldest son will not forget. He was taken under this mans wing and treated like one of his own. My youngest was always being given ways to get out of doing house hold chores.
I heard this song today, and it stopped me dead in my tracks.
I taught myself how to play this on my keyboard, and will get to play it on my Moms' piano.
I wonder if Donny and my Mom see one another in their travels.

Pelicans in Paradise
07.11.04 (3:04 pm)   [edit]

Please pay this site a visit and see some pretty awesome looking art, displayed on some interesting birds of the Pensacola area.

What is “Pelicans in Paradise”?
Modeled after community art ventures around the country, Pelicans in Paradise is a public art project developed by the Pensacola News Journal, showcasing the talents of local artists. Proceeds from the sale of these Pelicans will provide newspapers in our schools to improve student literacy and raise reading levels.

This Pelican is named Emerald Coast, ARTIST: Pennington is an award-winning artist, illustrator and teacher. She has illustrated four pocket books for Peter Pauper Press and has taught many students about watercolor through her workshops and video, “Wet on Wet.” Her artwork is on display in Pensacola and Alabama.
“I always try to do art that gives back to the community,’’ she said.

How big are they?

Reinforced Fiberglass, each standing just under 5 feet tall and 4 ½ feet wide. The Pelicans weigh approximately 70 pounds.

Who decorates them?

In late fall of 2003 and early 2004, more than 100 local, regional and national artists submitted samples of their work and proposals, colorfully displaying their ideas for their Pelicans. Artists were selected by each participating sponsor. Artists used various decoration materials (such as paint, glazes, and fiberglass additions) that would tolerate the Pensacola weather.

Where can I find them?

The Pelican launch will be concentrated in a 5 block radius in downtown Pensacola. From Palafox in the west to Tarragona in the east, and Garden Street in the north to Zarragossa in the south.

How long will they be here?

The Pelicans will be on display in the Pensacola area through the end of 2004.

Can I see the rest of the Flock online?

Sure, starting Monday, July 5, we will profile a different Pelican in this space.

Trash!
07.08.04 (8:12 pm)   [edit]
Ok, so this is NOT what you were more then likely expecting....sorry.
This morning I am driving to work, listening to my favourite radio station, singing aloud to a Led Zepplin classic when out from the car in front me drops not one but TWO cups. This just aggrivates the crap out of me.
I get to the stop light and I see someone toss a cigerette out the window which flies back hitting MY CAR WINDOW!!!! I am not singing anymore I am cursing these inconsiderate morons.
I get to work only to find tossed beer bottles in the bush beside my parked car. There is plastic bags flying by me, chip bags laying on the grass, and tons of cigerette butts on the curb side.
People who smoke are the dirtiest people I know. They just toss ther butts where ever with out any consideration for the rest of the world.
Cars at the stop light open their doors and empty the over filled ash tray.....what the hell is up with that!!!
People that chew gum just spit it out where ever, and the kids are not the only ones that do this. Walk along any mall and look down, what do you see, those black spots are GUM!!!! It's awful, and it is not necessary.
Then I go to sit at the beach and relax to enjoy the surf. Would you believe there are idiots that leave trash on the beach. Oh there is the water bottle, the chip bag, the styrofoam cups, and there is cigerette butts everywhere. I hate this crap. I am a non smoker, have NEVER smoked a day in my entire life, I wish we could find a way to give these smokers an attitude adjustment.
It is not necessary, it is extremely inconsiderate and it is not healthy to poor Mother Earth.
On my way home the garbage I see along side of the road is a sign that visitors from afar don't wish to keep our beautiful Island clean.
So I started out singing, and by the time I got to work I had gone through a couple of mood swings!! hahahahahah....I managed to still come out singing, no thanks to the dirt bags that litter! and expect everyone else to pick up after them.

Job applications dos and don'ts.
07.07.04 (5:32 pm)   [edit]
First of all I have to thank my Daughter In Law, Jenny for this doll.
I love this Jenny, thank you. She will be used on my Elley Ville Blog in the very near future.

Can you imagine putting on a job application, the reason for leaving your last job was due to the bosses wife! I had to read this and re read this, I just could not believe someone would actually put that down on a job application. It is up there with the things that stop and make you go....hummmmm.
While on the subject of job applications, I gues this would bring me to the correct way of going FOR the application. I have seen all sorts of dress atire and it boggles my mind, no damn wonder some people can't make it past the application form, and remain unemployeed.
1)First of all, you have to dress at least like you have respect for you self, and if you can't muster that, try and dress to show respect for the establisment in which you are applying. NO short shorts, NO pants UP the butt crack, NO bleached out jeans, NO tube tops, get the idea...
2)Don't chew gum! Of any sort.
3)Know what the date is, and the name to which you are applying.
4)Do not bring girl friends, boy friends, Mommy or Daddy, do not bring your children, and do not bring your HUBBY!!!
5)Try and talk so others can understand you
6)This is a job application, if the business cant read your writing it is a waste of time.
7)don't take the application home, fill it out while there...
8)Be observant, see the name tag I am wearing....call me by name.
9)Ask some questions pertenant to the job applied for,
10)Ask when you can expect a call, a couple days, a week, ask for a time frame. And smile...shake a hand, and good luck.
I could go on, however these are the biggest issues I have. It has never ceased to amaze me how people go job hunting. It just boggels my mind! And when you get the arrogant person that is trying to get YOUR job...hahahahahahhahahaha.....tell them it is filled!

Marks Mending
07.05.04 (7:13 pm)   [edit]
As some of you are aware, Greybeard took a tumble on Saturday. He hurt his ego and his body!! hahahaha not sure which more really.
Actually after spending some 5 hours at the Navy Hospitals Emerg. room I had no want to come home and continue cleaning or cooking. I did make jambalyai for dinner and it was GOOD
Mark did not sleep well, even with all the meds the Dr. gave him. He was up cutting up his meat to make his beef jerky at 3 a.m. He would come to bed, get up for a bit, come to bed and get up. Every time he got into bed he groaned, and every time he got out he groaned. Every time he sat on the potty he groaned, ...or is that moaned....hahahahahahah he was in a great deal of pain not to mention discomfort. Poor guy!!!
Sunday I cleaned house, did laundry, however I did not get all the cleaning done. I still have some dusting to do, and the bathrooms to finish up. Oh well, it's just the two of us, but sometimes it seems like there is at least 2 kids in this house and ME :!: :?
Sunday night I had to get up and sleep in the spare room. Poor Mark was snoring so loud he woke me up. I did not have a good nights sleep Sunday night either.
Today Mark was home as he is still having some trouble moving around. He stayed in bed for the better part of the day. With the meds he is on I should say so :!:
No work for him tomorrow either, and we hope that he is able to at least get up off a chair with out too much sound affects. Remember Markus, 10 DEEP breaths every hour,,,,,,together.....through the mouth NOT the nose!!! This is Dr's orders, and we know how men listen to their Dr's.
Thankfully our youngest son (via Marks first wife) will be home this coming weekend and he will help his Dad and I make up for lost time on the shed which Mark was working on when he tried to fly off the scafolding!
Which by the way Mark tells me he tried to fly off a chicken coop when he was 6. He had a bed sheet and was thinking paraschute  . mmmmmmmmm he scares me sometimes when he recalls his youth to me. LOL....
When I saw him on his knees, I knew he was not praying, and I got scared, as well as upset. Upset that he could have done extreme damage to himself. He had me so worried, and I am so relieved to know he is bruised only. Understand he did not want to go to the hospital, I had to insist, and call up our rules #3 and #4. hahahahahah thats for another post.
Now it is time for Marks meds again, and for me to take something to ease the FMS ache in my body.
Until next time.................................

Thought for the day: This is for my Greybeard after his LONG post the other day about ME and my sitcoms!! and our Cadilac of a bed.................

For a great display of Lady Liberty and the sky over New York this July 4th visit this Lady [url=http://www.njagyouth.org/Libe...]Liberty site[/url] .
I have been busy cleaning house and doing laundry. Wow, what a great day to spend my second day off. As you all know yesterday was spent in the Emerg. room waiting on Mark.
My Sister has me very worried, I am at a loss for words. She says she is re living her youth...hahahah...I thought 'men' only did that. Martha would not approve of this extra piece of NOSE jewellery. I am speechless really, I can't believe she went out and did this. It is so NOT like Brenda, however then again, in a way it is like her. I am thankfull I was not there with them, and I more then likely would be in agony as well. hahahaha....
Ok, now I must go and take care of my hubby.
Click on the this [url=http://www.njagyouth.org/Libe...]Lady Liberty link[/url] , and enjoy some easy fireworks.

Happy Canada Day
07.01.04 (7:45 pm)   [edit]
It has been a very long day for me. My ear has been acting up yet again, and I found work to be more effort then it was worth today.
Hubby and I went to Cabinet Depot this evening, and oh boy I am so so excited. The guy was great! Our kitchen will be ordered on Wednesday after I bring in half the payment on Saturday.
We had originally gone to Lowes, however it has been 4 weeks this Saturday, and we have not had a call or anything from them. We could have had our kitchen done by now had we gone to Cabinet Deopot first. They are installing everything too, and it is not costing us our first born child either!!!!! I am thrilled....
Mark and I will have to start tearing down the kitchen in two weeks time, and he will have to order the flooring so it will be here and ready to put down after the cabinets are done. At that time, the dogs will be locked outdoors in the garage which will have a little A/C unit installed for them.
Hubby is doing a smashing job on the shed out back. It should be done for the most part this weekend.
Ok, now I have to go and call my Sister to tell her about my kitchen.

Celebrate Canada Day
06.29.04 (7:57 pm)   [edit]

On July 1, 2004
Canada will celebrate it's 137th year since Confederation.
Before 1982 Canada Day had been known as Dominion Day, First of July, Confederation Day, and July the First.

Canada Day celebrates the events that occurred on July 1, 1867, when the British North America Act created the Canadian federal government. The BNA Act proclaimed "one Dominion under the name of Canada," hence the original title of the holiday, "Dominion Day." Dominion Day was officially renamed "Canada Day" by an Act of Parliament on October 27, 1982. This change reflected the policy of successive governments to down play Canada's colonial origins.

Canada's national celebration is always observed on July 1, unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case it is observed the following day.

All Canadians are entitled to Canada Day off work - although some people have to work. (like policemen and firemen).

Feeling Canadian eh!
06.28.04 (9:11 pm)   [edit]
I am not exactly sure why, but for some reason I am or was feeling very Canadian today.
One of the Condo's owners was standing at the front desk upon my arrival this a.m., and as we talked he said "Margo, where do you originally hail from?". I of course told him I am Canadian, came here in 97. He then started on about the election going on in my home land. Now this surprised the crap out of me. All thought it shouldn't have considering the man I was speaking with is not just a Lawyer, but a very well travelled man, very knowledgable, and very, very into politics. He then wanted to know why I had not procured my citizen ship here in the USA.
Why should I. What will that gain me. I am not living here because I wish to change my Citizan ship. I am living here because Mark doesn't like snow. I would move to Canada in a minute if he said he would come with me.
I am and always will be Canadian...and damn proud of that fact.
I do not vote in Canada either as I feel I do not have the right to do so not living there. I gave up that right of my own accord when I moved here. Becoming a Citizen here, would gain me the ability to vote...whoppie eh!! oh yes, and I could apply for Government jobs...again...yippie!!!
I have gone through the proper channels with the INS system, I have paid a good sum of money to obtain my "green" card and my Permanet Resident status ID card. This does not come cheaply, not to mention it took me some 2 full years from start to finish. A very stressfull 2 years too I might add.
I do have to say that when dealing with INS people in person, they were extremly friendly, courtious, and helpfull, was that because I am Canadian....could be.
At any rate, when I left Canada I was of the Conservative following, now I am not so sure. There have been times over the past year, when I found myself reading up on the political status of my home land. Today, we talked about the last time I remember the Conservative Party being in power. I do believe Joe "who" (Clark) comes to mind. Believe it or not, this man knew exactly of the time, and that put me in awe of this man yet again.
I have been asked about Canada's relationship with Britan, and whats with the Queen deal. I do the best I can to explain the political facts, however I am far from the ability of doing a good job on that subject, but I do try. While I am not a lover of the Qeen, I loved Princess Di, and have my ideas of how she met her death.
Sooo......here I am feeling Canadian. Mark has the idea of painting our shed 'red, white, and blue'. We bought the paint in only the red and white colors. Maybe I should get him to paing the side of the shed with the Maple Leaf!!! what the heck eh! just for me. What do you think of that Greybeard?!

Thought for the day:

I am not quite sure that I ever had the pleasure of being on an Elephants back before. If I had, you would think it would stand out in my mind, and it would be a place I would travel back to and enjoy.
One of the many places Mark brought me to visit when I first came to Pensacola, was the Gulf Breeze Zoo. At that time Eley, and African Elephant young, was living at the Zoo. Before I knew it, Mark had paid for me to have a ride on Eley. It was awesome. Eley was wonderful animal, she also was a great painter!
The following year she was taken away in order to mate. Eley did have a baby, however she has not returned to her home her in Pensacola.
I often go back to that ride on her. What a feeling to be on such a powerful animal, while at the same time how sad to have to care for these animals that are not intended to be in this part of the world.
This picture shows a huge smile on my face, one that a child would have when enjoying something they truely love.
My family, espically my husband, will tell you I am a bit anal when it comes to Elephants. This past March, while my Sister was here, we were turning off the highway into the Flea Market which is directly across the street from the Zoo, when Mark and I noticed that the sign for the Zoo sported an Elephant, and stated that in fact there was two Elephants currently residing there. Needless to say we just had to pay them a visit.
We walked through the flea market with me wanting to get across the street. Everyone was hungry so we had a bite to eat at the flea market before getting into the more expensive Zoo area.
We walked throught the entire Zoo, with me enjoying every step of the way, and then finally we were at the point where off towards the Elephants Sanctuary we headed.
I believe I stood and just watched the two young Elephants play with their trainers for what seemed to be 15 minutes. Then the one trainer came over and talked to us.
Tina and Mary are African elephants visiting The ZOO while their new home is being built at the Montgomery Zoo in Alabama. They will be guests at The ZOO through August.
Beautiful animals. Here you see Tina and Mary doing what the truely enjoy doing....making the crowd around them tell them how pretty they are, and how smart they are. Yes, you could see the sparkle in Tina's eye, when I and everyone else praised her. Feeding her ego! hahaha...I could have stood and watched them for hours, however my hubby reminded me that the others were getting a bit restless, and maybe it was time to move on. hahahaha...like I said, I am known to be a bit anal when it comes to certain things.
We have not ventured back to the Zoo since then, however we have gone to the Flea Market once or twice. Right now we are overwhelmed with 'house' projects, and while time is of the essence for us to get some things done, I would really love to get out to see Tina and Mary once more before they are moved to their new home.
I am going to be working on a blog dedicated to Elephnats in the near futrure....watch for it....a story of my collection ONE Elephant at a time.

Well, no Hooters race this evening for "Mark" the lightning Rod Rathbun!!! hahahahahah

We had quite a storm early this morning with pretty gusty winds. Woke me up from a sound sleep.
Around 6:30 this evening the rumbles started, and the TV showed tornado warnings for surrounding areas. I stepped outside and "WOW"! :!:
The sky was like unreal. I could see the funnel clouds trying to form, the wind took over and blew them apart, and you could see them start all over again. Some where there was real bad weather, you could tell from the color of the sky. The lightning drove me back inside the house, just as Mark pulled into the driveway. It had to seem a very long run from his car to the safty of the house :!: tonght.
Now at 10 p.m. it seems pretty quiet, until the next burst of storms roll through which should be in an hour or two.
It was quite an easy day at work. Staff members complaining about each other. The guests are good the staff take over...always something...geesh
Schatze is begging to be played with. She managed to get covered in wet yuck this evening before Mark got home. I had to dry her off several times, and she just went out again. At least she has not done her business IN the house this past two weeks. There might be hope for her yet.......mmmmmmm.....who am I kidding.
A tornado went through Marks Mothers home town yesterday. It missed her place, yet was only a couple of blocks down. She was with out power last night when she called us on her cell phone.
Every one is having such weird weather.....have you all seen "The day after tomorrow"????????????? ahahahahahahhahahahahahah ah.....scary eh :!: :?: :!:  :?
Now tomorrow is day one of my two days off.......what do I have to do.....
1) laundry, about 5 loads should wrap that up
2) ironing as I have not done that yet
3) cleaning the two bathrooms....BIG time
4) vacuuming
5) dusting
6) cleaning up the kitchen.....again
7) emptying the dish washer
8) sweeping the front porch
Mark has purchased wood to start building a shed out back. That will contribute to a dirty kitchen, fighting a lost battle in that dept. I might start taking the cloths down in our closet so we can get that organized. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day, so indoor stuff will be looked after.
Now it is time for me to hit the sack as I am tired, and my hands are starting to cramp up, and I have been fighting a charlie horse all frigin day in my right calf. Whats up with that eh!!! geesh.

Thought for the day: This is for all my Tblog friends that are going through hard times dealing with their inner self.

Perrrrrfect! end to the day
06.24.04 (9:29 pm)   [edit]
A good day at work, NO lightning, there fore no unhappy guests :!: the indoor pool was full again today. It is so hard to get some of the Condo owners to understand that the indoor pool is used just as much as the out door pool in the summer if not more. The sun shone brightly all day, phew...what a relief 8)
I went shopping with my the Property/Association Manager, his wife and one of my Front Desk girls. We were looking for a "tropical" print shirt to use as a Staff shirt for work. We failed in our plight  , however we did have fun. I purchased a two piece terry outfit to use for walks along the beach, just so happens it is in the same color as my swim suit :!: :!: how perfect is that :?:
Of course I was dragged kicking and screaming into [url=http://www.harryanddavid.com/...]Harry and Davids[/url] , for those of you who don't know, it is a terrificly expensive candy store, which my hubby and I just love. I only purchased licorice today...I was very good :!:
We did not go into every store at the Outlet Mall, only a select few. Brian bumped into one of his 7th grade Teachers, that was pretty interesting in that it had been 10 years since he last saw him....wow what a small world.
We then stopped at Franco's for dinner. It was very good and "thank you" to Brian and Mandy for the treat. I did not get home until 9:30, poor Mark was so lonely with out me....hahahahahahaha....I can dream can't I LOL!!!
There is a great display of lightning again this evening. The humidity was hanging in the air today, making for a some what low visability level out over the water. Errie in a way.
Mark purchased a truck load of materials to start the building process of a two level storage shed out back. It will be one of at least two sheds for storage and equipment. Then the mess will be moved OUT of the garage and into these buildings! hahahahahahaha.....
Mark is getting ready to call it a day, as should I. Happy tomorrow to all....I will visit everyones blogs tomorrow or by Saturday a.m. at the latest, I promise.

Thunder n Lightning!!
06.21.04 (9:35 pm)   [edit]
The sky is once again filled with a beautiful light show! Yesterday afternoon we had a hugh storm pass by, which seemed to stay for about 30 minutes, leave for 15 and then return with more anger. The lightning was enourmous! We were with out power here for 3 hours. It was cooler outdoors for a short time then it was in.
Mark cooked us up steaks n shrooms on the barbie....mmmm they were good.
This afternoon again the lightning was enourmous and we had to shut down the indoor pool at work. I suppose it lasted for the better part of an hour as well.
This evening once Mark got home we watched Harry Potter and the Sorceriers Stone. I get so 'into' the movie I feel like I am 'there' if you know what I mean.
This is a short n sweet blog this evening, tomorrow I will do better as soon as I get home.

My sister [url=http://blou.tblog.com/]Blou[/url] is running for Featured Blog. I ask that all my visitors please go and pay her site a visit, and then venture into [url=http://www.tblog.com/featured...]Featured Blogs[/url] and vote for her.

Thought for the day:Now this is fitting, seeing as I just got a call from Security...seems someone who does NOT have a reservation wants to get a Condo for the night...we are NOT a hotel....and I am not getting dressed because some idiot called to check availability eariler in the day and did not commit! Their outa luck! Best Western (and what a dump it is) is down the road!

Day off.....your kidding right!?!
06.19.04 (9:14 pm)   [edit]
As it was the first of my two day off break, I laid in bed for as long as allowed. Between Schatze and Markus, the first "roust" came around 6:45 a.m. then at 7:30 a.m.
Mark got up made coffee and took off to get a load of sand to distribute in the pot holes of the front yard. I woke myself up by enjoying a quick shower, getting ready for my what appeared to be "cleaning" day. All dressed and ready for my second coffee, I dialed my sister "Blous" number. Now it is only 9:30 a.m. in Canada so why is she not answering the phone. I know from experience that she can't be OUT working on that garden all ready!!!! She maybe a "Martha child" but she aint anal about it.....well.....hahahahahahahah thats another blog day! (come on Sis, that was funny)
As her answering machine picked up I start with the time of day, and where the heck could she be, and "hellllloooooo"....and then I hear a weary voice.....hahahahahah she is STILL IN BED!!!!!! I think we talked for almost 40 minutes. We tend to do that, and quite easily, before we know it almost an hour has gone by. My youngest son is in her town visiting OUR Dad his Grandfather for the weekend. Supposidly making or helping to make an addition on the dock.
My morning and part of my afternoon contaained laundry, some 5 loads there of, and I still have ironing to attend to. I vacuumed, dusted and cleaned both bathrooms. Cleaned the kitchen and the laundry rooms as well. The 'wicker' room also was put in order, which consisted of taking down the baby crib. We are going to need that room to some degree for storing kitchen items, and I do believe my boys may be coming South the last part of July :D
I made a lunch for Mark when he was finished throwing sand around the front yard. He looked exhausted as the humidity level was near 90% today. Again I cleaned up as he soaked in a "COLD" tub of water. He laid down and slept for about 30 minutes when the young guy from across the street knocked on the door scaring him half to death. Schatze barking did not help matters, and I was in the back of the house so I was not able to assist in warding off the fright.
He moved onto the bed, that is when I knew his head/neck ache was a little worse then he let on. Not sure if he was just trying to please me, but he got up and we prepared to take off shoppping. OUr first stop was to Sallys Beauty Supply for shampoo, conditioner and another hair product for me, as well as two items for groming the doggies :!:
I wanted to go to the World Market as it is a new and awesome store in one of the better Malls here in Pensacola. I purchased a bottle of wine which for now will just be added to my collection.
We walked through the mall, and like always the Discovery Store is another one of our haunts. Mark purchased a Recorder, which he says in his younger years he was able to play.......time will tell, I will keep you posted on that endeavour.
The Body n Bath shop was having a great sale, again Mark had the money out and picked up two glycerine soaps. We ventured into Best Buy, dreaming over the Flat Screen TV's, some pretty good prices right now, almost tempting.......almost. I was the one with the coin out this time, to add the Harry Potter "Sorciers Stone" to my collection.
Being as it was late, we went to Steak n Shake for dinner....yeeeessss I had a chocolate milk shake, cause MY GAWD they are good there. Into Sams Club we went after eating, and then into Win Dixie for the rest of our grocery needs and home. Things put away, tea made :!: jammies on, here I sit. Phew...my poor feet are so so sore. I know am tired, and need to veg for a time before I turn out the lights. ***yawn***** boy what a day!! where did it go....and this was a day off....geesh....

Thought for the day: Because this made me chuckle....just a bit.....

Act your age!
06.18.04 (9:07 pm)   [edit]
She could see no good reason to act her ageSome of you know my age, some don't, and some don't give a crap...hahahahahaha.....
I have been told several times and by several people that I don't look old enough to have a 25 year old child, and I certainly DON"T act as OLD as I am. geesh!!! that makes me feel grand eh
When the condo is 'full' to capacity, my routine in the a.m. is to walk the grounds and check things out. I look at the indoor and out door pools, I check the grassy areas, and the parking lot. I walk out onto the board walks and look back at the building observing the balconies and the property as a whole. I take note of any issues I think should be dealt, and most importantly I make my self visable to guests and staff, greeting them on such a wonderful day :!:
I am known for being overly 'cheery' in the morning, I have been asked "what drugs are you on", and I have been told "you make me sick always smiling so damnd early" :!:  hahahahaha....and I chuckle which makes those shake their heads as they walk away with our free coffee, back to the secure safe condo they can hide in until they are really ready to face me again...hahahahah geesh.
Today, I was standing watching the surf, and the great numbers of people out on the beach so bright and early claiming 'their' little spot for the day. The Baseball Team was getting ready for their morning practice, all gathering in the lobby area.
Standing on the board walk, holding my coffee in my hand, I was humming a song, "Good day Sunshine" yes, a Beatles song. I must of been swaying to my inner band, as one of the young 'beach boys' bringing ice out to the snow cone shack came up behind me ....."Miss Margo, I have heard you sing to Led Zepplin too....you can't be that old"......of course I'm not....Plante is much older then I! hahahahahahah....
I believe that one is only as "OLD" as they allow them selves to be, or feel. Our 'grey cells' happen to be the keeper of our ability to stay young.
I might be a tad over 40 (cough...cough) but that does not mean I am DEAD, or can't have fun, can't laugh, or can't sing....(now Sis, stop it....I am not as bad as Cody!)
My roll in life seems to be one of no matter what is going on, I must find a way to enable people to smile. Even in my own life, I will find that one thing that will get me to chuckle..............last year on the day I was at work and decided that I had to leave that very day for Canada as Mom was very sick, I stood in my office, eyes red from crying, looked at my front desk staff and said...."it is snowing in Canada.....I don't have boots or mitts, I am going to freeze!" It was said in humor, ment to lighten the mood, which it did. That is me.
Not sure what got me off on this note tonight, other then I find listening to music a great joy, and I mean the Beatles, Led Zepplin, Blue Oyster Cult, Pink Floyd, Joe Walsh, I could go on and on.....hahahahahaha...However, having said that....my energy level is not that of my Sisters, Blou. I can't do the work out doors any more, my body aches too much when I give the rake a few pulls over the grass. My feel sweel, and I end up not being able to breath as my allergies start to give me shit!.....BUT.....who wants to do that crap when they are my age anyways!~!!!!!! better to at least have an excuse..and a good ONE.....hahahahahahahaha
Mark has allowed ME to be ME....I do not have to hide who I am, I do not have to put on heirs....I don't have to be afraid him wanting to run and hide....he just shrugs and says..."thats my wife".
Aint that just grand!

Thought for the day:
I found this and thought it would appropriate given that I am supposed to be wearing ear plugs when around 'loud' noise, in wind and god forbid water!!!! Ear plugs....hahahahah thats what I wanted to buy today! ooopsy

"The amount of noise which anyone can bear undisturbed stands in inverse proportion to his mental capacity."
